- Written to be neutral, clear and personal, with the aim of spreading safe freediving practice as widely as possible.
Authors
- Kimmo Lahtinen — Finnish Navy diver 1989–2010, CMAS scuba instructor since 1991, AIDA education committee 2005–2009, AIDA president 2010–2015. AIDA instructor trainer and AIDA judge instructor. Founder of FreeXperience.
- Simo Kurra — AIDA education committee 2007–2009 and the developer behind AIDA's ICT systems (EOS, CARS, JOS, AAT). AIDA instructor trainer.
- Ari Nissinen — D.Sc. (Tech), freediver.
About freediving
- Freediving is diving without breathing apparatus. In many languages it is called apnea (breath-holding) or apnea diving.
- Around the turn of the millennium freediving was still a little-known sport. As organised freediving grew, so did knowledge of the sport — and of its risks. Done correctly, freediving is safe and rewarding, and spreading accurate information and safe practice has become a core focus of the freediving community.
- Unlike scuba diving, almost anyone can take up freediving. All you need is basic equipment and a place to dive.
- Relaxed snorkelling is usually safe and easy. Adding performance and evaluation brings risks, and the right knowledge combined with good skills is what keeps them under control.

Let customers speak for us
from 42 reviewsGreat quality, in love. I bought after using a friends lanyard and it was far better than anything I had ever used. Service was great, shipping to canada with no issues, much appreciated no extra customs fees also, though this may have been by chance :)
This is simply the wrist lanyard I trust the most. What I especially appreciate is the secure connection between the carabiner and the wrist strap. The design gives me complete confidence that it cannot accidentally open when it matters most.
I have personally used this lanyard at World Championships, international competitions and on dives beyond 100 meters. At those depths, trust in your equipment is absolutely essential – and my confidence in this lanyard is 100%.
For me, this is the best freediving lanyard on the market.
I really love the design of the FreeXperience freediving pulley. One of my favorite features is that you can simply open the pulley and place it directly onto the rope, instead of having to pull the entire rope through it every time. This makes setting up and changing the line much faster and easier.
It also has a great size, looks really professional and feels very well made. As a freediving instructor and school owner, the quality and appearance of my setup are important to me, and this pulley definitely adds to the professional quality of our training and competition setup.
Very happy with it!
Thanks
The only noseclip I use in depth. Light, comfortable and most importantly does not leak.
Very good quality & service, great contact
very practicable, very well-thought-out, very robuste and very cool colours
Amazing clip. Great to use under the mask or without mask.
will likely function longer than I will.
great product and fast delivery service
Normally not writing any reviews - but this Time…
I’ve tried so many Noseclips now and they all weren’t bad at all. But there was always something missing: fit, size, comfort, secure fit on my nose etc. etc. etc.
So after many positive feedback: I tried this one! What can I say: took the round shape 25mm like the classic Octopus. This Clip was great beside two things: slippery when wet & the adjustment was not great for me. One Step was too lose (Problems with EQ) and the other Step was way to uncomfortable.
And here we are: the FreeXperience Nose Clip. Perfect Adjustment and really comfortable. Not slippery at all due the Material!
Btw: the material is superior and high quality.
Great after sales service and support with quick succinct replies and advice. 👍🏼
i was looking everywhere for a stainless steel noseclip, and found it right here. i'm not a fan of big, bulky noseclips, nor of plastic ones, for both environmental and flotation reasons. so this one was basically as though someone had plucked the idea from my head and made it already. i'm so glad i bought it, it works perfectly, is super comfortable to wear, and, considering what it's made of, i'll likely never need to worry about getting another noseclip ever again.

I'm very grateful for the authors of this superb reference book! There is a lot of experience and knowledge all packed into relatively few pages. A great way to open awareness, to recall stuff, and to be triggered into wanting to find out more! With Gratitude!
I got great nose clips (will buy more just in case) - small enough to be comfortable to my nose - regular from other brands are too big for me. Lanyard is amazing - the wrist band is very anatomically friendly and you almost don't feel it. And the book.... it's an old style manual I say it with the hint of "nostalgia" - I take THE book everywhere and read the paragraphs I need at that particular moment or even just checking to refresh some knowledge which we are not able to do on line the same way. It helps to realise what I forgot or what I should focus on more. Highly recommend!
